Antimicrobial Resistance Diagnostic Initiative

The WHO Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Diagnostic Initiative aims to enhance diagnostic capacity globally, supporting countries in improving microbiology laboratory capacity and providing quality testing for bacterial, fungal, and resistant pathogens. The initiative includes a strategic framework, assessment tools, a Global AMR Laboratory Network, and research to improve diagnostic tools’ precision, speed, and usability for patient management, infection prevention, control measures, outbreak investigations, and routine AMR surveillance.
